Thoughts on Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus
We went to see Tim Mahoney’s documentary last evening, and found it to be a high quality, well-documented, well-researched film. We understand he’s laying the foundation for the next film on the exodus itself, and are looking forward to that.
Gardner’s quote concerning Egyptian chronology (rags and tatters) has intrigued me for years. My research agrees there is no way to definitively verify or place dynasties at specific times in history. It is truly only a best guess. Mahoney and others are up against the typical monster of tradition for the region and history. Therefore, placing certain artifacts (like chariot wheels) within a set time period is tricky. Remember Ron found wheels with 4, 6, and 8 spokes in his dives in the Red Sea. Who can tell what the actual years were?
We hope Mahoney’s film will wake people to the possibilities that Biblical events did occur as presented. The enemy will always try to muddy the waters and cause skepticism. There is a supernatural force at play always attempting to discredit Scripture, but God will also make the truth apparent for those looking for truth.
If the film hasn’t been shown in your area yet, make it a point to go and see it, and support the fourteen years or research and work he put into it.
