Permits Granted in Turkey
*This is a special newsletter for Dec. the regular one will follow shortly.
For literally years now ASI and other organizations have submitted applications for various permits to further the work at the Ark site in Eastern Turkey. Due to the political atmosphere and apprehension in dealing with outside organizations, request for permits for further development at the site have been suppressed and ignored.
Though ASI maintains and spongers the visitors center/museum, and thousands visit each season, further work in the development in the site is necessary. ASI has contributed to a number of improvements already, and now has the opportunity to take advantage of
a major development.
Permits have been issued for several projects collectively, these include but not limited too; ROAD IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SITE ( a 5 kilometer tourist road), UPGRADES TO THE VISITORS CENTER, A RETAINING WALL ABOVE THE ARK SITE, (to divert the mud flow away from the remains), EROSION CONTROLS, ADDITIONAL SCANS OF THE REMAINS, AND POSSIBLE EXCAVATION.
The cost for initiating these projects is $400,000.US
The road block in the past was getting the permits, they are now available, we at ASI always believed that once the permits were available God would impress folks interested, to supply the necessary funding. That time is now upon us, and we have a tremendous opportunity to cooperate with God in bringing this site onto the world stage. The results could surely be amazing. A portion of funds generated will go to promote the site world-wide. It is imperative that we act in a timely fashion, so we are asking those interested, to make a year end gift. The first $45,000 of donated funds will be matched.
By receiving the funds before the end of the year we will be able to, secure equipment, and schedule all of the preliminary work necessary to begin this season. Also, that will enable us to begin the survey work for the new scans in May of 07. Thanks for your interest and God bless!
